Today we visited and taught Entrepreneurship at Shiv Nadar Charity School. We reached the beautiful campus early in the morning; after walking through the entrance building we were lead to a beautiful quad where we were greeted by 200 students. After quick introductions we broke up into groups to begin our lesson plans. Sam and I were paired together and were given 20 students to teach entrepreneurship to in an hour and a half. We had brought some every day items with us and our goal was to allow the students to be creative and think outside of the box through an idea generation activity. We broke up our group into 4 smaller groups and met with each group to push them to be creative. After our idea generation activity, we explained the concept of a rocket pitch and had the students pick one of their ideas for a new way to use their product and explained the 4 P’s of marketing: Price, Product, Place and Promotion and how they should fit into their rocket pitch. The activity was so successful and the students had so much fun. After each teams rocket pitch, we voted on which group was the best and then they presented to the entire group of 200+ students! I was so impressed and I really enjoyed the day. In the short two hours we had with the students, I saw such a big transformation in their thinking and presentation skills!
